Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Prior paraprofessional experience, preferably within school settings
• Comfortable working 1:1 with children or adolescents with autism or similar needs
• Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) or willingness to learn
• Strong communication, patience, and adaptability
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and families
• High school diploma or equivalent required; further relevant education or certifications a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to students with autism, fostering academic and personal growth
• Assist with classroom activities, helping to adapt materials and instruction to each student’s needs
• Offer behavioral and social guidance, using positive reinforcement strategies
• Support students in daily routines and transitions, encouraging independence and confidence
• Communicate regularly with classroom teachers about student progress and needs
• Ensure a safe, nurturing, and respectful learning environment
