Job Details Job DetailsJob Location: FLA-Lake City Service Unit - Lake City, FL 32055Position Type: Full Time RegularEducation Level: High School Diploma/GEDSalary Range: $16.44 - $18.49 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayJob Category: StoreSchedule/Hours: Tues-Sat 9:00 - 6:00 pm (40 hours) This position is responsible for: Plans, administers, monitors, and evaluates the day-to-day operations of a single Thrift Store with a limited staff ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures; processes, displays, and prices donated items to ensure a reasonable financial return on the sale of store items; assists customers in a polite and friendly manner; prepares store displays that are attractive, neat, and orderly; rotates and re-stocks store merchandise to ensure quick turnover; ensures the accountability and security of all store items and funds. Plans, schedules, and assigns, and evaluates work of Store and warehouse/sorting room personnel. Key Responsibilities Administers and monitors the day-to-day operations of a small Thrift Store; serves as lead worker to volunteers, beneficiaries, and/or subordinate store personnel; trains and instruct staff in the proper methods and procedures for performing work; inspects work in progress and upon completion for accuracy and completeness. Plans, schedules, assigns, and evaluates work of Store Clerks, Sorting Room Workers, and other employees of the Thrift Store; instructs and trains employees in the proper methods and procedures; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with established store policies and procedures; assists employees in resolving operational or personnel problems; evaluates employees performance and recommends disciplinary action when necessary. Assists customers by explaining store policy and responding to questions regarding the pricing and/or purchasing of items; ensures that all customers visiting the store have a pleasant experience. Assists customers who are donating items to The Salvation Army; directs customers to the proper loading/unloading area, may assist with hauling donations to the storage area; prepares and provides tax receipts as needed. Prepares and delivers bank deposits Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting or operating a vehicle. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Work is performed in a normal store environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or G.E.D.
