About the Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises both licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of a recognized care model, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care; reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services; utilizes resources appropriately to support organizational, patient, and family needs. Evaluation: Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs and appropriate to care during their stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor/preceptor; demonstrates and encourages teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards and participates in the governance model. Schedule Notes: Shift is 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM (3 days per week). On-call is 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, no more than 3 times in a 6-week schedule. No more than one weekend and one holiday per contract period. Weekends are rotating from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM on-call. Required Skills & Experience: Two years of acute care RN experience. Preferred Skills & Experience: None. Required Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree (ASN). Preferred Education: None. Required Certifications & Licensure: Registered Nurse, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Preferred Certifications & Licensure: None.
