Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing all unit functions during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. They serve as a resource for staff and exemplify a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, thereby enhancing patient experiences and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental success.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with the admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Engage in ongoing evaluations of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
  • Work with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
  • Champion a patient-first philosophy and participate in service recovery when needed.
  • Facilitate staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
  • Provide input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, and recommend actions related to training, conflict resolution, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor resources in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
  • Support effective inventory management and assist in overseeing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within one year of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is necessary.
