Pharmacy Technician
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for preparing and distributing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures. Essential duties include drug distribution and intravenous admixture throughout the hospital and/or infusion center, competency in performing all aspects of the Pyxis automated dispensing systems, maintaining accurate controlled substance inventory utilizing the CII Pyxis system, accurate and efficient preparation and dispensing of medications with pharmacist verification, certification in chemotherapy preparation practices with competency in utilizing Texium system, generating revenues by calculating, recording and issuing charges, maintaining a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, consistent documentation of all pharmacy log sheets, completing monthly expiration medication assignments and documenting consistently, competency in repackaging/unit-dosing medications using the MILT4 program, competency in aseptic technique, appropriate use of technology to triage workflow for efficient medication delivery, maintaining pharmacy inventory by checking pharmacy stock, assist in restocking and rotating medications and supplies, assisting health care providers with phone calls in a timely manner, appropriate use of time management for maintaining shift specific workflow, and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, specialized/technical training from an accredited Pharmacy Technician School, one year of experience in Pharmacy, ability to perform dose calculations, double checks accuracy of product selection, organization/time management skills, proficient verbal and written communication skills, excellent customer service, Pharmacy Technician (CA DCA) Registration with California State Board of Pharmacy, and Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) if applicable.

The hourly rate range for this position is $25.69 - $43.67.
