APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in the Metro Detroit area looking to add a Press Technician to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to set up and operate large hydraulic stamping presses while ensuring quality production of steel, aluminum, and prototype parts. Keep reading for more details!

What your day will look like:

• Set up and operate hydraulic presses (2000+ ton capacity)
• Produce steel, aluminum, and prototype stamped parts
• Perform die setup, tryouts, and adjustments
• Inspect finished parts for quality and conformance to specifications
• Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks)
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Conduct test runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper performance
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on presses and tooling
• Ensure all equipment is operating efficiently and safely

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of 5 years of die tryout and press operation experience
• Experience with development and design of tools and dies
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience working with large stamping presses
• High attention to detail and quality standards
• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong attendance and reliability
