Fabricator - Welder (Night Shift)

Job Responsibilities Read and interpret design blueprints, drawings, and work orders. Prepare, fabricate, and weld metal components and structures. Interpret drawings and sketches and plan work procedures, tools, and material requirements. Select appropriate materials for each job. Lay out work, prepare sketches, and determine required stock sizes. Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded. Set up, assemble, and tack-weld parts, constructing special fixtures as needed. Perform gas and electric welding in all positions (downhand, vertical, overhead, etc.). Build up worn or defective parts. Clean, grind, and flame-anneal parts and welded joints as required. Use cutting and burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut materials to size and shape. Exercise safety precautions and ensure proper handling of materials and equipment to and from job sites. Work in both shop and field environments. Perform work requiring knowledge of welding properties, rods, heat inputs, stress relief, fit‑up, machining allowances, and effects of shrinkage, warpage, and expansion. Perform other duties as assigned by Lead or Management. Requirements Completion of high school diploma or equivalent. 1–3 years of experience working on shredders (asset). 3–5 years of experience in the metal/non‑metal mining industry (asset). 3–5 years of welding experience (D1.1). Work experience as a metal fabricator or in a similar role. Professional certification from the American Welding Society (AWS). Proficiency in SMAW (stick welding), GMAW (MIG welding), and carbon arc gouging. Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment exposed to heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, coal, and noise. Safety‑conscious and safety‑oriented. Occasional additional hours, including weekends, may be required. Compensation Hourly rate: $33 - $38.
