Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 24 months of current Med Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele experience required License: Active Iowa license or compact multistate license required Certifications: BLS (AHA) required ACLS (AHA) required NIH Stroke Scale certificate highly preferred Must-Have: Experience in administering Heparin and Insulin required Experience floating across general med surg, rehabilitation, and behavioral health required EPIC experience required Must have completed at least one travel contract in the previous 12 months Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Med Surg/Telemetry for a nursing float position. This position requires a firm 3x12 hour shifts schedule, totaling 36 hours per week. There is a holiday rotation with requirements to work 1-2 of the three upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients with various medical conditions, including those in rehabilitation and behavioral health. Patient ratios are 1:4-5, and the unit primarily manages drips for insulin and heparin. Scrub colors for this position are pewter grey. Candidates must have a skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Telemetry. Professional references are preferred within the last 24 months from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, or CNO. This position will float across general med surg, rehabilitation, and behavioral health units as needed. Only experienced travelers will be considered, as first-time travelers are not eligible.
