Senior Software Engineer10+ Month W2 Contract San Jose, CA (Onsite)Here's how you'll become a key player with this opportunity:We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and own automation that scales our support experience—turning Slack/office-hours requests into high-quality, actionable tickets and faster resolutions. You will be a hands-on builder who ships production systems end-to-end and partners closely with stakeholders to drive adoption and measurable outcomes.Here's how you'll make an impact on the team:Build and maintain support automation services and integrations (e.g., Slack ? Jiraintake, enrichment, routing, lifecycle sync).Implement agentic workflows to automate triage, context collection, summarization, and next-step recommendations using tool-calling/orchestration frameworks.Deliver production-grade systems: APIs, event-driven processing, retries/idempotency, rate limiting, and strong error handling.Add and maintain observability for automation health (logs/metrics/dashboards/alerts) and improve reliability over time.Communicate clearly with users and partner teams via docs, demos, and concise status updates; iterate quickly based on feedback.Here's what you'll need to be successful in this role:Strong hands-on coding in Java, Python, or Go; experience shipping productionservices/integrations.Strong API development experience (designing and building REST/gRPC services,versioning, authn/authz, documentation, and backwards compatibility).Good understanding of system architecture (service boundaries, data flows,scalability, resilience, and operational tradeoffs).Experience (or strong practical interest) in agentic tools/frameworks (LangGraph,Langchain, orchestration, RAG patterns, evaluation/guardrails) and ability to apply them pragmatically.Solid engineering fundamentals: distributed systems basics, debugging, operationalreadiness, and building maintainable code.Strong communication skills—able to explain technical concepts, write clear docs, and collaborate across teams.Proactive, go-getter mindset—takes ownership, drives tasks to completion, andcontinuously improves processes.Pay Range: $90.00 - $98.59/hourBenefits That Matter to You:NextDeavor offers health, vision and dental benefits for contract employeesPaid sick leave eligibility is contingent on state of residenceOptional 401k Plan (excludes employer match)Opportunity to get your foot in the door at a well-established corporationReady to take the next step?
