Operations Technician

Midstream Operations Technician I/II/III/IV Clarksburg, WV Overview At EQT, you help shape our future through transparent leadership, connected impact, and supported growth. As a Midstream Operations Technician, you play a key role in maintaining and operating our midstream gathering system. Responsibilities Maintains a safe operating environment using Stop Work Authority and follows all EQT policies and procedures. Performs duties associated with midstream gathering system maintenance and operation, including compression, pipelines, storage, dehydration, measurement, and all associated appurtenances and equipment. Operates, troubleshoots, performs preventative maintenance, and conducts minor repairs on pipelines, appurtenances, natural gas engines, electric motors, dehydration equipment, auxiliary equipment, and gas compressors. Conducts pipeline maintenance tasks such as leak surveys, leak repair, methanol/odorant injection, valve maintenance, pigging, line‑locating call responses, and troubleshooting pipeline restrictions and obstructions, including hydrates. Performs basic operational tasks such as line locating, tank emptying, fluid refilling, tank and facility inspection, and checking tank and equipment fluid levels. Co‑ordinates shutdowns with EQT’s construction department, assists in commissioning pipelines and facilities, and participates in Pre‑Safety Startup Review (PSSR) and Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) procedures for transfer of ownership of new facilities and assets. Completely finishes assignments as directed within established timeframes and accurately records work information in a computerized database for work orders, field data collection, and compliance reporting. Required Experience and Skills High School Diploma / GED. At least 1 year of related work experience in the natural gas industry; pipeline, storage, and facility operations. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products. Detail oriented with strong organizational and research skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to identify work priorities and function with very little supervision at times. Team player, self‑motivated, high energy, and initiative. Preferred Experience and Skills At least 1–3 years of related experience in natural gas industry; field, mechanical, glycol dehydration, and compression experience. Knowledge of all facets of natural gas processing and pipeline operations and maintenance. Working Conditions Physical Demands: Requires sitting, lifting, and filing throughout most of the day with occasional outdoor assignments including walking on construction sites, industrial locations, fields, or wooded areas. Exposes employees to weather conditions ranging from extreme cold to hot and humid environments; walking on uneven terrain may be required, along with visiting construction or industrial sites, farm properties, and rural roads. High‑noise areas may be encountered; proper PPE must be used at all times. This role is covered under DOT PHMSA / FMCSA regulations for inclusion within governmental program requirements, such as Random D&A testing.
