Job Description:

Savannah Technical College is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Admissions Assistant. The Admissions Assistant will provide administrative and customer service support to the Admissions Office and assist prospective and current students throughout the admissions process.

Under supervision of the Assistant Director for Admissions, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Greeting prospective students and visitors upon arrival in the Admissions Office
• Answering incoming calls to the Admissions Office and appropriately directing as applicable
• Determining the nature of prospective students' and visitors' needs and providing timely and accurate responses
• Processing new student applications and related information, and preparing student files
• Providing information by telephone, written correspondence and in person to interested parties regarding applicant procedures and admissions requirements
• Keeping abreast of admissions regulations, policies, and procedures
• Sorting, processing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail and electronic communications
• Maintaining inventory of all admissions materials
• Providing administrative support
• Assisting with all Student Affairs processes and procedures as assigned
• Assisting with the design and execution of special events, projects, and activities
• Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent *and* six (6) months of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in college admissions
• Experience working with the public in a customer service environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Skill in operation of computers and job-related software programs
• Skill in managing multiple priorities
• Decision making and problem solving skills

Physical demands

The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight. Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.

Salary/Benefits

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
