Job Details Shift: 12H Days Total Weekly Hours: 36 Certifications: BLS and NRP required, EFM training & Intermediate AWHONN FHM preferred Trauma Level: (not specified) Facility Specific Job Notes: (none) Qualifications and Requirements Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery / Labor & Birth experience in an acute care hospital setting Certifications: BLS and NRP required; EFM training & Intermediate AWHONN FHM preferred Skills Required: Strong fetal monitoring and interpretation skills Expertise in labor support and coaching Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency Ability to handle obstetric emergencies and rapid response situations Experience managing laboring patients, including high‑risk obstetric cases, independently Strong communication, critical thinking, and time management abilities Experience working comfortably with 2 patients in a high acuity, team‑based environment Capable of adapting quickly to new workflows, policies, and electronic medical records Preferred Experience: Two years of current inpatient, acute care hospital experience Additional Requirements: Comfortable floating between Antepartum and Labor & Delivery areas; Must work independently and within a team environment; Flu vaccination required from November 1- April1, with exemptions needing client approval Job Summary The Agency Labor & Birth (L&B) Registered Nurse is responsible for comprehensive nursing care for laboring, delivering, and immediate postpartum patients in a high‑paced, high‑acuity hospital setting. This role involves collaborating closely with obstetric providers, anesthesia, NICU, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence‑based, patient‑centered care throughout the labor and birth process.
