Peer Recovery Support Specialist - Outreach & Engagement - Pathways to Care

JOB SUMMARY: As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, you will use your lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery to provide hope, support, and guidance to individuals in the recovery process. You will work as part of an integrated care team to deliver peer-based recovery support, helping individuals develop recovery goals, navigate treatment services, and connect with community resources. Outreach and Engagement - The Outreach and Engagement PRSS will focus on engaging with individuals, educating individuals on services and resources that Family and Children Services provide, and connection to the providers involved in programs. The Outreach and Engagement PRSS does not have a dedicated caseload but will have a fluid client list to outreach and engage in services.

- Outreach admitted clients that have not recently engaged in services.
- Outreach targeted individuals who have been referred but not yet admitted or connected to services.
- Hand out basic supplies and contact information for initial contact for treatment in the community.
- Provide one-on-one and group peer support to individuals recovering from mental health and/or substance use challenges.
- Share personal experiences to build trust, inspire hope, and foster a sense of empowerment in clients.
- Assist individuals in developing personalized recovery plans, including setting goals and identifying strategies for overcoming barriers.
- Help clients navigate the healthcare system, including linking them to treatment services, social services, housing, and other community resources.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and other professionals to ensure holistic, person-centered care.
- Provide education on recovery and wellness, encouraging individuals to take an active role in their recovery.
- Assist clients in developing self-advocacy skills and accessing support networks.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided, in accordance with CCBHC standards.
- Facilitate peer-led recovery groups and workshops.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and supervision.
- Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all client interactions.
- Must possess a Driver's License and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office. [Mileage reimbursement provided]
- Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent
- Specialized experience as a recipient of mental health services for mental illness and experience working with adults with mental illness
