Job Description As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our customer’s clinical team to resolve venous access issues and facilitate the treatment objectives of the treating physician. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting, providing a unique career opportunity to observe different treatment protocols and patient challenges. Responsibilities Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance. Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation. Assist with management of PICCs and vascular access devices. Provide a wide range of vascular access support services, including port access, line removal, and declotting. Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines, and other CVADs. Scheduling Consultants visit patients in different customer facilities and must be willing to travel and fulfill scheduling requirements based on business needs. Full‑time scheduling includes three to four days per week, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation. Part‑time (Per Diem) scheduling requires a minimum of four scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation. Training and Experience Requirements Ideal candidates are experienced in ultrasound‑guided IV (USGIV) placements and vascular access device (VAD) insertions. Training is available in some locations for candidates with recent, consistent USGIV placement experience. Priority is given to fully trained vascular access nurses, but additional training is available for those with strong USGIV skills. Required Qualifications Registered Nurse with current license. American Heart BLS certification. Experience in vascular access device (VAD) management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Experience placing ultrasound‑guided IVs (USGIVs). Ability to work independently and fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification. Valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites. Must possess a smartphone. Must love vascular access! Preferred Qualifications Minimum of three years of acute‑care RN experience. Experience placing PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound.
