FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

job summary:
Great client is seeking a field service engineer to join their team. The field service engineer will perform end-to-end installation, commissioning, and diagnostic troubleshooting on advanced packaging equipment. They will provide direct technical support and performance resolution at client manufacturing sites. Candidates must have a strong automation background and advanced PLC expertise to optimize machine operations.

responsibilities:

• Lead on-site installation, commissioning, startup, and testing for both new and legacy packaging equipment across Food & Beverage client facilities.

• Perform hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting-both on-site and remotely-to resolve performance issues in a timely, solution-oriented manner.

• Educate customer personnel and service teams on proper machine operation, routine maintenance, and safety protocols.

• Prepare detailed technical service reports outlining completed work, diagnostic findings, and long-term operational recommendations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on field service experience, ideally in packaging machinery or a related industry.

• Advanced proficiency with Rockwell Automation software, specifically RSLogix 5000.

• strong background in machine automation, mechanical systems, and industrial electronics.

• Proven problem-solving mindset with a hands-on, solution-driven approach and high self-accountability.

Location & Travel:

• Home-based on the East Coast or in the Kentucky/Tennessee corridor, ideally within 60 minutes of a major airport hub.

• Greater than 90% travel throughout North America (United States, Canada, and Mexico) with occasional international travel.

• All travel time is fully compensated, with overtime eligibility.
