Amerex Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Designer to support the development and execution of seasonal outerwear collections, from concept through sample development. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the apparel design and development process and can independently manage day-to-day design tasks while collaborating closely with the Designer.

Responsibilities and Duties\n

• Conduct seasonal trend research, including retail and online market research, to identify emerging trends, silhouettes, colors, and key items.
\n
• Assist in developing color palettes, trend boards, and inspiration presentations.
\n
• Source and organize fabrics and trims, maintain material libraries, and coordinate lab dips and material approvals.
\n
• Create and update technical CADs using Adobe Illustrator.
\n
• Prepare and maintain tech packs, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and other technical documentation.
\n
• Organize proto samples, development racks, and design materials to support seasonal development.
\n
• Photograph samples and organize images for internal presentations and reference.
\n
• Prepare seasonal line sheets and presentation materials.
\n
• Track samples throughout the development process and coordinate follow-ups to keep development on schedule.
\n
• Attend fit sessions, document fit comments, and update tech packs to reflect revisions.
\n
• Support artwork and graphic development as needed.
\n
• Communicate with vendors and factories regarding sample status, materials, and development updates.
\n
• Manage assigned design and administrative tasks proactively, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications\n

\n
• 2–4 years of professional apparel design experience, preferably in outerwear.
\n
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; working knowledge of Excel.
\n
• Experience creating CADs, preparing tech packs, and maintaining BOMs.
\n
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and the apparel product development process.
\n
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with the Designer and cross-functional teams.
\n
• Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented approach to daily responsibilities.

Salary Range- $55,000-$65,000 annually. Based on Experience.
