Position Summary

Queenstown Harbor Golf & Resort is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Banquet Houseman to support banquet and event operations. This role is responsible for setting up and breaking down event spaces, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring all event functions run smoothly while delivering exceptional guest service.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and break down banquet rooms according to event specifications and floor plans
• Arrange tables, chairs, linens, risers, and service ware for events and buffets
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces, storage rooms, and back-of-house areas
• Move, lift, and transport banquet equipment including tables, chairs, risers, and carts
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest and client requests
• Assist with guest-facing events and provide support to other departments as needed
• Communicate with clients regarding special requests and event needs
• Perform daily cleaning tasks including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and spot cleaning
• Maintain equipment inventory and keep storage areas orderly
• Restock supplies and complete assigned side work duties
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards
• Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions
• Maintain punctuality, reliability, and adherence to assigned schedule
• Qualifications

• Previous banquet houseman or hospitality experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of table settings, service ware, and event setup procedures
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• Professional demeanor with a positive, service-oriented attitude

Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and additional hours as needed
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Commitment to following all safety procedures and proper body mechanics
