What is a DSP?

At Mains’l, a DSP is someone who provides support and services to people with mental health concerns and developmental limitations in their homes and communities.

What does a DSP do?

As a DSP, you will spend your time with extremely talented and amazing people by working to help support adults in their own homes. Through this work, you’ll help individuals live a meaningful and fulfilled life based on their goals and aspirations.

Additionally, you'll support them with medication, keeping a safe living environment, assisting with personal care, cooking, cleaning, attending community events, and supporting any hobbies and interests they may have.

Furthermore, you have the opportunity to attend events such as movies, birthday parties, or restaurant outings, based on the interests the person(s) may have. As a crew, we spend our time laughing and having fun, while teaching skills and abilities through coaching and role modeling, card games, music, and trying new adventures.

Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to be a voice to advocate for the needs of those who don’t always have the voice or ability to do so.

Pay Rate: $18.25 per hour,

Full-time morning available - Sunday - Thursday 

Location: Oroville 

Other job duties include:

• The ability to support with personal care (getting dressed, showering, toileting, etc.), cooking, cleaning, medication administration, support of positive behavior, and working through difficult situations in ways that lead to positive outcomes.
• Collaborating with the person you support and your co-workers to problem solve and create a positive and inclusive culture.
• Clear and accurate documentation of the person(s) you support day-to-day.
• Aiding or supporting activities of daily living in the person’s home and their community based on the needs and preferences of the person you support.
• Supporting others to realize their hopes and dreams, which may take place in the form of community events or activities.
• Having fun!

Pre-employment requirements:

• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI check if applicable. 
• Safe and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance, if applicable.
• Ability to pass a driving record check, if applicable.  
• TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test
• Physical, if applicable.

Pay Scale: 
Starting rate: $18.25 per hour 
Maximum Pay Rate: $19.25 per hour based on years of experience at Mains'l.
