Job Description
Our client is looking for a skilled and personable Legal Assistant to support the Business Law practice in our Dover, NH office. The ideal candidate is a professional with 2-5 years of experience, a desire to further their career in the legal field, and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.For this position, every day is different, but the goal is the always same: helping our clients to build businesses or find professional success in careful and informed ways. Some days, you’ll be talking to the clients directly, and others, you might be poring over documents in meticulous detail or maintaining complex case files. No matter what the day brings, you’ll be working closely with attorneys and taking on new challenges with an experienced, supportive team by your side.

Responsibilities
Opening and closing client files
Coordinate conflict checks, prepare engagement letters, setting up and organizing client files in paper form and electronic format
Assist attorneys in preparing and organizing legal documents, correspondence and pleadings
Maintain accurate and updated case files electronically and paper, including filing and indexing
Communicate directly with clients, witnesses and other legal professionals
Manage calendars, deadlines and case timelines
Perform other functions as requested or needed or assigned Requirements
2-5 years’ experience as a legal assistant/paralegal in a law firm environment
Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, scheduling, deadlines, court rules and procedures in New Hampshire
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and client needs in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Team-oriented attitude with a passion for the production of high-quality legal work for clients
Proficiency in standard computer software, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Experience with Filevine and LMS is preferred but not required
