Home Instead Senior Care
Home Instead is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community. Home Instead provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.
Primary Responsibilities:- Reflect the core values of Home Instead Merrick
- Contribute to a positive living environment to enhance a client's quality of life
- Document daily activities and report any significant changes in a client's needs or living conditions
- Maintain regular communication with supervisor and office staff
- Companionship and conversation
- Providing stabilization and assistance with walking
- Light housekeeping tasks (laundry, dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens etc.)
- Meal preparation
- Medication and appointment reminders
- Assistance with grooming and bathing
- Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
- Running errands
- Accompanying clients to appointments
- Alzheimer's Care
- Driving to assignments and driving clients to appointments and shopping
Requirements to be a CAREGiver:
- **Current Home Health Aide Certification (HHA)
- Must Possess a Valid Driver's License and Reliable Vehicle with Valid Auto Insurance
- Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
- Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
- Complete a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen
- Three (3) years minimum experience caring for seniors
- Must provide positive professional references illustrating experience
