Surgical Technologist (CST)

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our dynamic team at Barnes-Jewish Hospital's POD 4 (specialized in all services including general, plastics, ophthalmology, endocine, oncology)! We are looking for someone who is flexible, dependable and a great team member that would love to see their career grow!

Hours: 4 10-hour shifts with late/call requirements

Role Purpose

Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.
• Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
• Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• <2 years or military equivalent experience

Supervisor Experience

• No Experience

Preferred Requirements

Education

• Accred Surgical Program

Licenses & Certifications

• Surgical Technician
