Job Title

RN (Registered Nurse) – ICU / Critical Care

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, primary nursing care in an 8-bed Critical Care unit with a 1:2–3 nurse-to-patient ratio, with no nurse aides — nurses deliver all primary care
• Manage and titrate ICU-level drips including Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, and Cardizem
• Care for sedated and ventilated patients, including tracheostomy management, PEG tube care and feedings, and CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care
• Monitor and interpret telemetry via hardwired Philips monitors; unit is centrally monitored by an in-house telemetry tech
• Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy (available in-house 24/7) and utilize RT equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen as needed
• Float to Medical-Surgical unit as needed per staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Demonstrated experience caring for ICU-level patients including sedated/ventilated patients and vasopressor management
• Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
• Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with common ICU diagnoses including respiratory failure, post-surgical care, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac conditions
• Proficiency with sedation, pain control, and vasopressor drip titration
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
• Prior experience floating to Medical-Surgical units
