The False Claims Division holds accountable individuals and companies that make false statements to obtain government contracts or funds and brings enforcement actions against companies in diverse industries, including public construction, transportation, communications, technology, and health care. Cases often require coordination with state, local, and federal authorities and involve challenging and complex enforcement matters.Primary Duties: The Assistant Attorney General will be responsible for handling the investigation and litigation of complex matters involving alleged violations of the Massachusetts False Claims Act. Key investigative responsibilities include obtaining documents and taking testimony through civil investigative demands, interviewing witnesses, analyzing evidence, drafting memoranda, and negotiating settlements. Litigation responsibilities may include handling pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and trial when applicable. The Assistant Attorney General also will be responsible for assessing, investigating, and litigating sealed whistleblower, or qui tam, actions, some of which are filed on behalf of multiple government entities, and all of which require collaboration with the whistleblower and their attorney. Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt. Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most Positions. On in-office days, employees are required to report to one of our designated office locations, either in Boston or at a regional office.
