Veterinarian Assistant

Role Overview Veterinary Assistant (Banfield Pet Hospital) – A key member of the hospital team who supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients and associates while maintaining the continuity of quality veterinary care. Responsibilities Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service to clients and pets. Perform all required skills of a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program. Help maintain patient flow, communicate with veterinarians and vet techs. Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance. Adhere to hospital standards that keep pets safe, and keep treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean and organized. Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans® and the importance of preventive care. Mentor other members of the hospital team. Support a positive, customer-focused environment and demonstrate effective communication. Qualifications Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education, training and experience. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
