We are looking for a reliable and safety-minded Dump Truck Driver to transport materials to and from our designated job sites. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, operating, and unloading dump trucks while strictly adhering to all traffic regulations and safety procedures. To excel in this position, you must hold a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), maintain a clean driving record, and possess the physical stamina required to navigate active construction zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport Materials: Haul sand, gravel, dirt, asphalt, and debris safely to and from worksites.
- Operate Heavy Equipment: Drive multi-axle dump trucks and manipulate the truck bed to dump materials exactly where directed.
- Inspect Vehicles: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on tires, brakes, fluids, and lights.
- Secure Payloads: Ensure all truck loads are covered with tarps and meet legal weight restrictions before hitting public roads.
- Maintain Records: Log working hours, fuel consumption, delivery receipts, and vehicle maintenance reports accurately.
- Follow Regulations: Strictly adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, speed limits, and site-specific safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively: Coordinate with site foremen, dispatchers, and heavy equipment operators via two-way radio.
Skills and Qualifications
- Licensing: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- Clean Record: A driving record free of major violations or recent at-fault accidents.
- Experience: Proven experience operating a dump truck or other heavy commercial vehicles.
- Physical Stamina: Capacity to lift heavy objects, climb in and out of the cab frequently, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Technical Savvy: Ability to read maps, navigate GPS systems, and utilize electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Endorsements: Air brake endorsement is required; a manual transmission (no E-restriction) capability is preferred.
