Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry / Med-Surg & Cardiac Observation

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 21-bed Med-Surg and Cardiac Observation unit managing common diagnoses including pre/post cath, chest pain rule-outs on heparin drips, COPD, CHF, arrhythmias, and pacers
• Read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips in real time using unit-based monitoring equipment
• Administer and manage set-rate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Bumex, and Lasix
• Maintain patient ratios averaging 1:6 in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with up to 6 discharges and 6+ admissions per day
• Collaborate with charge nurses, nurse aides, and telemetry monitor technicians to ensure continuity of care
• Adhere to every-other-weekend scheduling requirements; float to other units as needed within scope of practice

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (both required)
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
• Experience administering set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone drips
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every-other-weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with TR Bands (post-cardiac catheterization care)
• Prior travel nursing experience in a telemetry or cardiac observation setting
• Familiarity with BiPAP and CPAP supportive therapy
