Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Days Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Post-Op, Oncology, and Telemetry unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6
• Care for general medical-surgical and post-operative patients including laparoscopic cholecystectomy and appendectomy cases, as well as oncology patients presenting with complications such as neutropenic precautions, pneumonia, and infections
• Manage and monitor patients with chest tubes, including those discharged with PleurX chest tubes
• Read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring equipment in coordination with a central monitor technician
• Titrate Heparin drips as required; no cardiac drips utilized on this unit
• Adhere to weekend rotation (every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday) and participate in the holiday rotation schedule alongside permanent staff

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification
• Experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, or oncology nursing
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips independently
• Willingness to float to other medical-surgical and telemetry units as needed
• Must comply with dress code: royal blue scrubs; no artificial/false nails permitted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification is a strong plus
• Experience with PleurX chest tube management highly preferred
• Familiarity with neutropenic precaution protocols and oncology patient populations
• Experience caring for occasional psychiatric patients requiring 1:1 observation
