Transport Paramedic

General Purpose The Transport Paramedic provides advanced life support to patients during transportation, ensuring care aligns with Transport policies and procedures and reports to Medical Control. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies. Serve as primary or secondary caregiver per Transport protocols. Provide patient care, including respiratory management, EKG interpretation, IV access, medication administration, code and pain management. Assess and respond rapidly to emergency situations, coordinate transport duties, and maintain professional composure. Communicate with the Transport Coordinator regarding issues, assignments, and post‑transport activities. Attend safety and staff meetings, record equipment readiness, and conduct post‑transport cleaning, refueling, and restocking. Apply knowledge of FCC regulations for radio and telephone operations. Use basic computer skills for documentation and education tasks. Read maps accurately and coordinate inter‑institutional and intra‑institutional calls. Ensure all required documentation is completed for patient care and Transport billing. Maintain required continuing education hours. Speak clearly over radio and telephone, demonstrating ethical business practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Precede new Transport Staff during orientation and mentor them. Assist in skills checklist completion and sign off on required skills. Education and Experience Minimum of three years' experience in 911/critical care or emergency medicine. Neonatal or pediatric emergency room/ICU/PICU experience preferred. Flight experience considered a plus. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Certified or licensed EMT‑Paramedic in the State of Texas. Current AHA or ARC CPR certification. Maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within six months of hire. Maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification within six months of hire. Maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within six months of hire. Obtain national certification (FP‑C, CCP‑C, C‑NPT) within one year of orientation. Provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance upon hire. Provide proof of current Texas state driver’s license. #J-18808-Ljbffr
