Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown

Registered Nurse Hematology

Schedule: 12-hour rotating Days/Nights.

Assignment Details: Daily census of approximately 22 patients; 24-bed unit.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of total acute care nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience.
• Acute care experience must be current (working consistently in the last 12 months).
• Travel experience required.
• References: 2 professional references (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal supervisor).
• Required: BLS, ACLS certifications.
• Preferred: ONS chemo certification, NIHSS.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients.
• Administer blood products and IV antibiotics.
• Manage electrolytes and monitor patient telemetry.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, social work, and rapid response teams.
• Perform IV therapy, starting IVs, phlebotomy, and central line/PICC care.
• Conduct regular feeding tube care and patient assessments.

Compliance / Notes: Strict credentialing and fingerprinting timelines apply; candidates must complete background checks and submit necessary documentation promptly. Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required.
