Key Responsibilities
- Pattern Optimization: Use nesting software to layout parts on standard material sheets, optimizing material utilization and machine runtime.
- File Management: Import CAD drawings (DXF/DWG) and convert them into machine-ready nesting layouts.
- Material Coordination: Select appropriate material gauges and sheet sizes based on job specifications.
- Quality Control: Review nested patterns to ensure proper spacing (lead-ins/outs) and verify that part geometries match production orders.
- Waste Reduction: Track and report material yield; identify opportunities to use "remnant" material for smaller parts.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, specifically working with CNC machinery (Laser, Plasma, Waterjet).
- Software Skills: Proficiency with nesting software (e.g., Pronest, SigmaNEST, TruTops, Mastercam, or similar) and basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Strong understanding of spatial reasoning and basic geometry.
- Reliability: Ability to commit to work with a focus on precision and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills ( emails, in - person)
