Job Title: Mechanic

Job Description:

We are seeking a hands-on, skilled Mechanic to join our team and ensure our equipment operates at peak performance. This role requires welding experience with knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service forklifts and diesel trucks.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of various pumps and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components and systems.
• Perform welding tasks such as spot welding, pipe welding, and patching holes (preferred skill).
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
• Work safely in an outdoor industrial setting, adhering to all environmental and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain facility operations and address maintenance needs.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience in maintenance/ mechanical experience in industrial or commercial settings.
• Strong knowledge of pump systems, equipment maintenance, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and OSHA standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Valid California Driver's license.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Willingness to obtain a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Willingness to work outdoors in an industrial environment.

Work Environment

Work in an indoor/outdoor hazardous waste facility during the first shift from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Safety is a priority, and all necessary equipment is provided

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Long Beach,CA.
