Joining AMG means being part of a collaborative, patient-focused environment where innovation and quality care thrive.We're Looking For:High School Diploma or GED required.Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.Phlebotomy skills are preferred.What You'll Do:As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:Welcome patients and support their transition into care.Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.Administer medications and vaccines as directed.Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.Document care accurately in the electronic health record.Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.About This Location:Aurora Gastroenterology provides comprehensive care focused on digestive health, including clinic visits and procedural support. We value your insights and experiences because they help us grow stronger together.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.Physical Abilities Testing may be required.Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.Ready to Take the Next Step:Apply Now!Experience:No Experience RequiredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills, within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, team members and physicians.Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.Demonstrates customer service skills that support a positive patient experience.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other team member, when available.Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.Will be exposed to the following hazards on a frequent basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood and body fluids.
