Environmental Compliance Specialist

Job Details Location: Vallejo, CA 94591 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: Approx. 80% with occasional overnight Job Shift: Day Job Category: Environmental Compliance Responsibilities Conduct regulatory visual inspections at gas stations and other UST and AST facilities. Effectively communicate crucial information to assist clients in maintaining compliance with federal, state, district, and local regulations. Provide annual training to designated facility employees on required safety and compliance duties. Complete state inspection report forms. Perform additional environmental regulatory audits as required by client and location. Act independently and as part of a team to make appropriate compliance recommendations. Perform regular safety checks on all field equipment and complete vehicle inspection reports. Pay and Benefits Starting hourly rate will be $22.00 - $24.00 per hour. A $500 bonus will be paid after your 90-day anniversary. Travel time between your home office and job sites is paid at your regular hourly rate. Mileage between your home office and job sites is reimbursed at IRS standard mileage rates. All training and fees associated with obtaining required certification will be paid. Qualifications You enjoy working outdoors in the field. This position involves approximately 4 days per week of fieldwork at customer sites. Typically, one day per week is dedicated to office tasks completed remotely from your home office (80% field/20% home office). You can pass the California UST System Operator Certification after completing company-sponsored training. You work well independently. You can collaborate effectively with a team. You have a strong attention to detail with a focus on quality. You have excellent time management skills. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You enjoy problem solving. You are proficient with computers and learning new software. Factors for Success Successful completion of the California UST System Operator certification required after training. Personal vehicle required for travel between job sites. Valid CA driver’s license with excellent driving record required. Ability to pass background screening after conditional offer accepted required. Suitable candidates located in or near job location required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
