2nd Shift Production Manager

Pay Range : $99,000 - $123,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications

Location: Phoenix, AZ 85034

Shift/Work Schedule: 2nd shift runs Monday-Friday from 3:00pm - 12:00am. Flexibility is required as needed to meet production demands & customer commitments.

SUMMARY

The 2nd Shift Production Manager is responsible for directing the activities of the night shift plant operations in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Directs team members with respect to production volume, cost, quality, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates
• Produces the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost consistent with best manufacturing practices
• Provides a safe work environment for all personnel
• Recognizes and takes steps to resolve operating problems to minimize their impact on the operations
• Cooperates with all departments to assure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times
• Responsible for inventory usage and all other department costs
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records (timecards, downtime records, absentee records, etc.)
• Enforces company policies in a fair and consistent manner
• Encourages suggestions from employees, which will improve production, quality, safety, and/or control costs of production
• Keeps Operations Manager informed of operating and/or employee problems, which may require their attention or knowledge
• Maintains consistent communications and regular department meetings
• Arranges to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained
• Keeps records of departmental activities, as required
• Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department
• Establishes accountabilities and goals used for performance evaluation
• Performs other duties as required or directed

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and organized work environment
• Demonstrate MITER Brands Guiding Principles in all business interactions
• Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years' manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing leadership role with previous multi-line responsibility strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret regulations and policies in accordance with Company guidelines
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Ability to effectively enforce applicable regulations and policies
• Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments and customers
• Proficient leadership skills
• Able to train and motivate department personnel
• Ability to work flexible hours depending upon the needs of the department
• Ability to travel if needed

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years' manufacturing experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
• May be required to frequently lift to 50 lbs. Depending on the job.
• Hand dexterity and strength.
• Prolonged sitting and terminal use.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Primarily operates in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary
