Phlebotomist II - Lab Associate (Float)

Job Title and Information Missouri Baptist Medical Center is hiring a Full‑Time Float Lab Associate II – Phlebotomy. Position Details Experienced phlebotomist position Float Phlebotomist – Provides coverage to the St. Louis area across BJC multiple locations – locations may vary daily Day Shift Hours: 8‑hour shifts between the hours of 6:30am –5:30pm (Mon‑Fri) depending on hours and locations which vary based on operational needs NO Weekends or holidays Perform venipunctures and urine collections Utilize multiple Laboratory Information Systems Ensure high‑quality patient care and customer service Reliable transportation needed Experience & Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of professional phlebotomy experience Expertise in blood draws & specimen collection Excellent patient interaction and communication skills Other eligible roles: Phlebotomist, Lab Technician, Lab Associate, Laboratory, Blood draw Requirements High School Diploma or GED (required) 2 years or more of relevant experience Responsibilities Interpret physician orders and order tests in the appropriate system Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and proper specimen collection and integrity; may work in outpatient lab, physician office, or off‑campus patient service center Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory and proficiently handle all specimens received in the lab Coordinate a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuations in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned Licenses & Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Phlebotomy Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and legal services available first day of the month after hire date Disability insurance paid for by BJC Annual 4% BJC Automatic Retirement Contribution 401(k) plan with BJC match Tuition Assistance available on first day BJC Institute for Learning and Development Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts Paid Time Off benefit combines vacation, sick days, holidays, and personal time Adoption assistance Legal Statement Equal Opportunity Employer #J-18808-Ljbffr
