Senior Facilities Technician — HVAC, Electrical & Safety

Job Description Summary As a Technical Specialist, you will work on moderately sophisticated facility maintenance and repair services in one or more specialized trades such as preventive or predictive maintenance, structural, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC. Your duties include performing complex repairs, providing technical training, and supporting both daily operations and large projects. Key Responsibilities Use advanced skills to perform maintenance service and repairs for the organization’s facilities. Develop and ensure maximum efficient operation of facilities and equipment, including all utility infrastructure, and conduct inspections in accordance with accepted standards and preventive maintenance schedules. Act as a specialist for specific maintenance tasks, possibly leading a team responsible for HVAC, life safety systems, boilers, chillers, generators, motors, turbines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment in a large commercial facility. Serve as a technical specialist overseeing and completing complex projects. Assist the Supervisor with safety compliance, training, workflow planning, and day‑to‑day administration. Remain familiar with and align with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws and regulations. Typical Skills And Experiences Education: Associate of Science degree, certificate from a technical school, or successful completion of a Department of Labor approved training program. License/Certification/Designation: Level 1 Vibration Certification, Level 1 Thermography Certification (required) Locksmith Certification (preferred) Electrical license (if mandated) Fire Alarm, State Stationary Engineer’s license or equivalent coursework (required) Universal CFC Certification, BICSI RCDD (preferred) Experience: Five or more years of related work experience. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Facility maintenance troubleshooting, repair and planning methods, facility management, project management concepts, understanding of building, electrical, fire, OSHA, EPA, and local codes, team leadership, planning, installation, maintenance, testing, repair and operation of electrical, HVAC, and life safety systems, facility maintenance program development, communication, problem solving and decision making. May require overtime, non‑standard or rotating shifts, outdoor work in varied weather, ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds, handle heights, and exposure to chemicals.
