ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT GLOBAL MARKET STRATEGIST

OverviewThe Global Market Strategist's primary responsibilities are (1) composing and publishing regular, timely, insightful commentary regarding allocation positioning and market strategy, and (2) partnering with the sales organization to communicate and provide detailed technical expertise on equity investment strategies and how such strategies can be implemented within our client firm platforms and models.The composition duties of the Strategist are designed to produce materials that arm Touchstone's sales force with relevant insights to serve their financial intermediaries' information needs. The Strategist trains the sales organizations to effectively use and message such content, including in connecting the top-down allocation and market strategy insights into specific opportunities in Touchstone products.The Global Market Strategist represents to internal and external constituencies the investment strategies employed by Touchstone's sub-advisors and methods to best position and employ Touchstone equity strategies in investor portfolios. This position champions the strategic growth of Touchstone's equity products by supporting the Touchstone sales teams in all aspects of the sales cycle from prospecting to closing business to retention. In support of this objective, this position spends extensive time with Touchstone's sub-advisors, developing the ability to act as a conduit between the sub-advisors and Touchstone's sales organization. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible to make an established range of decisions, escalating to Manager when necessary.Responsibilities•Leads Touchstone Asset Allocation Committee (TAAC), maintaining and enhancing allocation methodologies and overseeing publication of regular materials on allocation positioning and market strategy.•Conducts extensive research regularly on market, macroeconomic and geopolitical issues impacting investment risks and opportunities. Develops insights based on such research to communicate via TAAC materials and direct communication with sales force and stakeholders.•Trains the sales force in effective use of TAAC materials and connection between TAAC guidance and particular Touchstone investment strategies.•Drives sales and retention of Touchstone’s broad array of equity products by developing compelling messaging and participating with Touchstone wholesalers in delivery of such messaging to intermediary clients.•Collaborates closely with equity and multi-asset sub-advisors and Touchstone’s Sub-adviser Research team to cultivate a deep understanding of the investment approach, underlying securities and results in order to represent all facets of the product internally and externally.•Partners with Marketing and Compliance regarding development of TAAC and fund materials as well as deployment of materials and insights with social media and journalists. Acts as a principal Touchstone spokesperson for allocation guidance broadly and specific equity asset class positioning with the media and at Touchstone events.•Develops and delivers investment, market and business communications to existing and prospective clients in one-on-one, small group, and large audience (e.g., branch) presentations.•Provides updates on overall financial markets performance, economic trends and the overall investment outlook.•Acts as a spokesperson for equity sub-advisors’ investment teams with the ability to present a deep understanding of the investment process, market outlook and strong advocacy for the services.•Assists in training sales personnel to become self-sufficient in positioning and messaging of TAAC guidance and Touchstone Funds within the context of their typical customer forms of interaction (e.g., one-on-one, short phone call, etc.).•Performs other duties as assigned.•Complies with all policies and standards.Qualifications•Bachelor's DegreeRequired•Master's DegreePreferred•Demonstrated strong investment management acumen and analytical skills.Required•Demonstrated excellent written communication skills.Required•Demonstrated strong knowledge of economics and capital markets, including global macro and marketing topics, particularly equity- and allocation-related.Required•Demonstrated solid interpersonal skills and experience in public speaking; experience working with broadcast and/or print media preferred.Required•Demonstrated experience handling demanding situations, prioritizing multiple tasks with critical target dates, dealing with demanding customers and participating in discussions with limited preparation time.Required•Must be able to cite examples from work experience on identifying complex problems, quantifying the problem and providing creating resolutions to solve.Required•Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner.
