President

the client seeks an experienced, entrepreneurial, and inspirational leader to serve as its next president. Reporting to the board of trustees, the president will act as the chief executive officer and collaborate with the board, deans, faculty, staff, alumni, and students to shape and execute a strategic vision. The role is responsible for leading the institution’s mission-driven delivery of rigorous graduate-level law and policy education that addresses critical environmental and social justice challenges. the client is a private, non-profit, independent law and policy school and is the only law school in Vermont. The president will help lead strong academic programs and advance areas of institutional strength, including environmental law, public service career outcomes, restorative justice, criminal law, and clinical education. The president will work closely with the law and graduate school deans, who oversee academic programs and day-to-day operations of their respective units, to ensure alignment and effective execution across the institution. the client is also positioned for growth and adaptation, including an online hybrid part-time JD program designed for working professionals who may have constraints that limit full-time residential study. The president is expected to navigate a rapidly evolving legal education landscape shaped by rising costs and changing career demands, and will partner with faculty and staff to address institutional challenges while leveraging the client’s distinct capabilities. The president will lead efforts to support graduates who are well prepared for practice and increasingly comfortable with technology and global contexts, sustaining the institution’s success and vitality.
