Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week day shift assignment supporting adult med/surg, critical care, and pediatric patients with Trauma Level II experience required.

Details

• Adult med/surg, adult critical care, and general pediatric patient population
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)
• Possible block scheduling of 3 shifts in a row, though not guaranteed
• No stretches longer than 3 shifts in a row
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• RRT certification required (CRT not accepted)
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience in profession
• Prior travel experience required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Trauma Level I, teaching hospital, and community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, and high frequency oscillator/jet ventilation
• Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilator, and umbilical/capillary blood gases
• Experience administering medications via aerosol, MDI, and nebulizer delivery systems
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and pneumonia
• Experience caring for infants/children with RSV, BPD, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Skilled in drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases
• Experience with chest physiotherapy including vest therapy
• Spirometry and pulmonary function testing experience

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatric settings
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal intubation as needed
• Perform pulmonary hygiene, suctioning, and sputum specimen collection
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, upon arrival
• A positive drug screen results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions
• Candidates should avoid substances that could result in a positive drug screen, including CBD products
• Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required
• Certifications must be attached to candidate profile for consideration
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
