Purchasing Clerk

Location: Bakersfield, CA (Onsite)

Salary: $45,000 – $58,000 DOE

A growing distribution and operations company in Bakersfield is looking to add a Purchasing Clerk to its team. This organization supports a fast-paced operation where having the right materials and supplies available at the right time is critical to daily success. The purchasing team serves as an important link between vendors, operations, accounting, and warehouse staff, helping keep everything running smoothly.

This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a role that combines administrative support, vendor communication, and data accuracy.

The Opportunity

This role exists to support the purchasing function by ensuring purchase orders are processed accurately, vendor information is maintained, and inventory needs are communicated efficiently. You'll work closely with operations, warehouse personnel, accounting, and outside vendors to help keep materials flowing and documentation organized.

What You'll Do

• Process purchase orders and enter purchasing data into the company's ERP system
• Coordinate with vendors regarding pricing, product availability, and delivery updates
• Maintain purchasing records, vendor files, and supporting documentation
• Review invoices, packing slips, and purchase orders to ensure accuracy
• Support inventory tracking and communicate material shortages or ordering needs to the purchasing team

What We're Looking For

• 1+ years of purchasing, administrative, inventory, or office support experience
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and ERP or purchasing systems preferred
• Distribution, manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, or industrial industry experience is a plus
