Job Opportunity: Pediatric Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician

Our organization is on the lookout for a dedicated full-time Pediatric Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician to enhance our comprehensive clinical program. This program focuses on providing exceptional care for children and adolescents facing a variety of developmental disorders. Currently, our division includes two Board-Certified developmental behavioral pediatricians along with Nurse Practitioners to meet the expanding needs of our community.

Situated about 40 miles from New York City in West Islip, New York, our 537-bed teaching hospital is part of a larger health network. The area is rich in culture and history, offering a wide array of attractions and activities. Families in this region benefit from some of the nation’s top school districts and recreational options.

As a member of the Children's Hospital Association, our organization is committed to advancing pediatric care and enhancing the quality of services for children. With a staff of over 900 physicians, we operate a Level II pediatric trauma center and serve nearly 950,000 patients each year across Long Island's south shore. We proudly offer Suffolk County's only free-standing Center for Pediatric Specialty Care, providing multi-specialty services from our Level III Neonatology Unit into adulthood.

Our specialists actively support and train medical students, interns, and residents as part of the Good Samaritan University Pediatric residency-training program. There are also opportunities for those interested in engaging in research and scholarly activities within various programs supported by our health network.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $260,000

• Assessing and managing infants, children, and adolescents with a wide range of conditions, including autism spectrum disorders, behavioral challenges, developmental delays, common genetic disorders (such as Down Syndrome), sleep and feeding issues, and educational difficulties related to speech, language, and learning.

• Supervising and educating medical students, interns, and residents who rotate through the department and division.

• Upholding high standards of care for all patients.

• Encouraging high-quality, cost-effective care grounded in the latest medical evidence.

• Participating in data collection to evaluate patient care and satisfaction.

• Staying updated on advancements in pediatrics and related fields through continuing medical education (CME) programs, literature reviews, and medical staff meetings.

• Engaging in clinical research opportunities, which are both available and encouraged.

Ideal candidates will have training in Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and be Board Certified or Eligible in Pediatrics and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. A valid New York State Physician's license is mandatory.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate; actual compensation will depend on various factors, including education, training, skills, licensure, certification, competencies, and relevant experience.
