Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and GA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric General Emergency Department
• Level I and Level II Trauma Center setting
• 12-hour night shifts (3x12), 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Skills required: Respiratory care, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, interpretation of ABGs, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressor management
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and triage protocols

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a high-acuity trauma setting
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Holiday coverage required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays fall within the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Full compliance required prior to start date to avoid scheduling delays
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
