Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team at ComforCare Portland South. As a Caregiver, you will provide assistance with daily living activities, personal care tasks, household and supportive services, and medication services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and their families.

Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, nail care, and oral hygiene

• Assist with ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercises, safe use of equipment and assistive devices, and changing of position

• Provide assistance with toileting, use of bedpan, commode, or urinal, and incontinent care

• Assist with meal planning, preparation, and assistance with feeding

• Provide emotional support and motivation through conversation, encouragement, and recreational activities

• Maintain accurate records and reports any abnormalities in client condition

• Present and conduct yourself in a professional manner according to agency policy and the ComForCare Caregiver Job Description

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

• Must possess a current driver's license, proof of vehicle registration, and valid insurance

• Must have the ability to accurately follow and process written and verbal instructions

• Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and interact with clients, client representatives, family members, caregivers, and administrative staff

• Must adhere to Agency policy and procedures at all times

Certification Requirements:

• Certified caregivers will be required to present copies of their current certification for inclusion in their personnel file

• Caregivers providing Medication Services to a client are required to complete 5 IPCED courses designed to provide detailed information and instruction

• A one-hour in-service of medication education will be required annually to continue providing medication services to our clients
