Program Coordinator

Program Coordinator, Political Science - Emory College of Arts and Sciences Coordinates a program and related activities including establishing long-term objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, developing promotional materials/venues, managing related databases, and establishing/forecasting budget requirements. Performs other related duties as required. Responsibilities Work closely with the Director of Graduate Studies, Director of Graduate Admissions Program, Department Chair, the Assistant Program Director, staff members, and graduate students. Track the admissions process and administer new student recruitment, student enrollment, RA/TA space allocation, degree tracking; attend and take notes at committee meetings, organize poster/paper sessions each semester, schedule PhD defenses and degree clearances, track TA spaces, assist with Dean’s Teaching Fellowship applications, PhD placement, review graduate course schedule and evaluations, and ensure compliance with LGS policies and procedures. Work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; occasional after-hours attendance for special events. Requires presence on campus five days a week. Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in a field related to the program. Three years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications Administrative experience managing a graduate program in a university setting. Detail oriented, excellent oral and written communication skills, adept at Microsoft Office. Strong organizational and project management skills. Flexibility, creative brainstorming, strong problem‑solving abilities. Good judgment and confidentiality. Experience with professional social media content creation and website content management. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with internal and external partners. Team player. Other responsibilities may include event planning, travel planning, purchasing supplies, finance reimbursements, and other duties as needed. Workplace Position tasks are generally performed in person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
