Summary About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. For more information on Red River Army Depot, go to the following web site: Responsibilities Serve as Director of Emergency Services at Red River Army Depot within the Army Material Command (AMC). Provide emergency services to a large military installation, that includes maintenance, multimillion dollar construction and environmental programs, garrison/base operations and tenant activities. Develop, coordinate, and implement programs, policies, regulations, and procedures and serves as technical advisor to the Depot Commander and other management officials on all fire, law enforcement and emergency medical services matters. Serve as the Depot Provost Marshal. Represent the depot for law enforcement and fire protection/prevention law enforcement matters to the surrounding civilian communities to include the local, county and state police, Office of Emergency Management, and fire departments. Serve as the interim security clearance granting authority for the depot. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing an emergency services team that includes law enforcement, fire protection and prevention, force protections, physical security and etc.; 2) Administering the plans, policies, and operations procedures for the emergency services organizations; and 3) Implementing innovative techniques for providing emergency services support to the installation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
