Registration Associate - St. Peter's Hospital - Full Time - Night Shift

Description St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking an individual to assist with clerical duties associated with keeping the department running smoothly. The position requires a two‑week training period, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and holiday or weekend rotation is required. Job Summary Representative I – Patient Access. Provides patient‑focused customer service, performs outpatient or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions, collects patient financial liability payments, ensures that patients meet financial requirements, including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre‑certifications and referrals. Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families and physician offices. Essential Functions Researches, collects and analyzes information; identifies opportunities, develops solutions and leads through resolution; collaborates on performance improvement activities to improve program efficiency and patient experience. Distributes analytical reports. Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports and develop educational materials. Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes and procedures, acquires new knowledge readily. Researches and compiles information for ad‑hoc operational projects and initiatives; synthesizes and analyzes data, provides detailed summaries and graphical presentations, recommends practical options while considering impact on business strategy and supporting leadership decision‑making; leverages program and operational data to define and demonstrate progress, ROI and impacts. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of Conduct, policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure adherence with honest, ethical and professional behavior. Functional Role Entry level position (PAR I). Minimum one (1) year customer service experience. Patient Access experience preferred. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certification required within one (1) year of hire. Additional Qualifications (Nice to Have) Medical terminology knowledge and diagnostic & procedural coding. Insurance verification with ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations. Compensation Pay range: $17.50 – $21.80 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
