Mechanical Assembler

New Tech Global is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to support a leading manufacturing client in the Houston area.

This position is responsible for assembling and testing enclosed drive gearboxes and related subassemblies while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards. The ideal candidate has previous mechanical assembly experience, can read blueprints, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Overview

• Assemble, test, and inspect gearboxes and mechanical subassemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
• Utilize calipers, measuring devices, and hand tools to verify product dimensions and specifications.
• Record production measurements and maintain accurate production documentation.
• Troubleshoot assembly issues and make necessary corrections.
• Maintain material traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
• Keep workstations, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production teams to resolve assembly and testing concerns.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing operation.
• Assist with additional production duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of mechanical assembly or industrial manufacturing experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to begin work immediately if selected.
• Previous forklift experience is preferred but not required.
• Material handling experience required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
• Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing/industrial facility.
• Safety-toe footwear and required PPE must be worn.
• Overtime may be required based on production demands.
