Forklift Operator
General Purpose: Safely operate a forklift to move and build pallets in preparation for product shipment.
Essential Functions:
- Review daily schedule and report to work area.
- Perform forklift pre-inspections and report operational problems to the Team Leader
- Operate forklift in compliance with proper operating instructions and safety procedures.
- Refuel forklift at end of shift and/or as needed.
- Troubleshoot minor forklift operation issues and make adjustments.
- Locate and retrieve products to build pallets manually and/or with forklift in preparation for shipping.
- Move pallets with forklift to staging area.
- May use electric or manual pallet jack to move products.
- Gather and assemble specific customer orders.
- Manually lift boxes ranging in weight from 1 lb. to 80 lbs. to build approximately 28 pallets per day.
- Use shrinks wrapping machine to prepare pallets for shipping.
- Palletize boxes maintaining a pace commensurate with daily schedule.
- Utilize scanner to locate inventory and maintain inventory tracking.
- Place proper labels on pallets and boxes according to company procedure.
- Perform work in a fast-paced environment, maintain production and quality requirements.
- Maintain proper housekeeping of area and equipment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/License/Certification:
- Forklift Certification
- Pallet jack certification
