Engineering CAD Technician

RUIZ is a fast growing Engineering, Project / Construction Management, Inspection and Surveying services firm supporting the Utility, Energy, and Oil & Gas sectors in the US. We are looking for an experienced Engineering CAD Technician to join our family oriented consulting practice and support a variety of project types within the energy, utilities, and civil space. Working from home is not an option and candidate must be able to commute to our Kendall office daily. You will grow with us and gain the experience and knowledge needed to advance your career. The candidate would work independently to design and prepare timely, safe and cost-effective natural gas infrastructure improvements including off-site main and service extensions, system replacements due to degradation, system relocations due to state, municipal, and private entity construction conflicts, system reinforcements due to pressure concerns, and system expansion due to growth. Designs include applicable CAD drawing production, permits, system improvements which may include bridge attachments, railroad crossings and directional bore operations. Representative Duties and Responsibilities: Creates permitting and construction drawings using AutoCAD. Ensure that compliance with all engineering principles, gas operating standards, local code, state and federal rules, regulations, mandates and statutes is maintained by preparing and/or revising designs as necessary for all gas facilities installed. Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction by responding to customer needs, keeping customers informed and ensuring work is scheduled in an effective manner. Prepare city, state and railroad right-of-way permits and traffic control plans as required. Prepare and distribute construction drawing packages. Other duties as assigned Education and Experience: Required: 3 years work related CAD experience Preferred: GIS, CAD, engineering or technical education or experience Knowledge of natural gas distribution system facilities Skills: Required: AutoCAD and GIS – intermediate proficiency Mathematical aptitude and drafting ability - intermediate proficiency Excellent interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, interpret and apply engineering and architectural plans – intermediate proficiency #J-18808-Ljbffr RUIZ
