Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role is focused on the care of adult and geriatric patients in an outpatient surgical environment. Candidates must be prepared to manage both Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia care.Shift InformationSchedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PMCall Responsibilities: Required for 2-3 days per weekWeekend Requirements: Must be on call for two weekends per monthDuties and ResponsibilitiesConduct nursing admission assessments for surgical/procedure patients.Manage the admission and discharge processes of patients.Provide phase appropriate post-anesthesia care.Assist in the operating room as needed, including preparing the OR for surgery.Demonstrate strong assessment, IV, and patient education skills.Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members, including nursing and physician staff.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in Same Day Surgery.Experience in a rural or outpatient facility is required.Proficient in IV starts and admitting/discharging patients.Strong experience in Phase I and Phase II PACU is mandatory.Must be familiar with Cerner EMR.Travel experience is highly preferred.Must have a personal vehicle, as public transport options are limited in the area.Additional RequirementsBLS and ACLS certifications are required (AHA).Willingness to obtain a Vermont state nursing license prior to the start date.Requests for time off must be noted and verified at the time of application; no more than 5 days will be accepted.Must be prepared to work two blocks during holiday periods, including Thanksgiving and Christmas.This position requires strong time management and customer service skills, along with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
